Prologue

"I'll keep living for you.."

After her home in the mountains was taken over. Iona grew up in the world of tyranny at the hands of the garleans. Her captors knew Viera being rare and alluring, would also become lucrative. She was sold off and contracted to a Kugane lord where she was used for profit and trained in the performing arts, (Dance/Drama/Song) making her one of the most desired dancers the troupe had ever seen.

Here she met and fell for a doman mercenary that became a light in her life who dreamed that one day they would escape from this world of servitude and live a happy life. They kept their love a secret for the reason that she, a servant to her master, Was not allowed to love openly and freely. She was promised if she could pay off her debt her contract would be null and void, and then she would be free to do as she pleases. Even though Othard’s bluebloods and even Isghardian lords would call upon this mysterious dancer and pay large sums of Gil. She never quite earned enough to settle her debt.

Tragically, their secret was revealed and the repercussion was her lover's death. Believing it was her fault, Iona couldn't bear to stay there with the memories that once inspired her now only bring anguish. She ran away with the guilt in her heart from the only world she’s ever known. Determined to fulfill the hopes and wishes of her dearly departed along with seeking some kind of solace and a start at a new life.
